Basilica Of SUPERGA ---- https://it.wikipedia.org / wiki / Superga
Superga (Soperga in Piedmontese) is one of the tallest hills (672 ms s.l.m.) of Turin, that rises from east of the Piedmontese chief town, on which the homonym basilica is built. It belongs to the hills of the Po.
When Jean-Jacques Rousseau came for the first time to Superga, looking at the underlying panorama it exclaimed, full of enthusiasm: "I have in front of me the most beautiful show that can strike the human eye."
Edmondo De Amicis already wrote: "The panorama of the hill of Superga is greater and more beautiful than its fame", and also Pious pope XII defined it "the most beautiful panorama in Europe."
The whole layout of the Green ring altogether reaches the 34 km of length and it has ideally been divided in 6 itineraries among the Po and the hill. The panorama is, in every season, of a thrilling beauty and it is still practicing a great charm for the Turinese people and not only. Every itinerary can be crossed in a few hours and the points of departure and arrival are well connected.
